  1. wash the rice and soak for 20 minutes. Meanwhile chop veggies.

  2. Drain the soaked rice and keep it aside.

  3. Heat the oil in a deep pan. Once hot add whole spices and saute for a minute.Then add cumin seeds and fennel seeds, let them sizzle.Then cook onions in it for 2 minutes.

  4. Mix in ginger paste and garlic paste, cook for 1 minute.Stir in tomatoes and both peppers. Also mix in spice powders with salt.

  5. Mix in yogurt.

  6. Add soaked rice and water. mix well.Cover the pan and cook for 18-20 minutes. Then let it rest covered for 10 minutes.After 10 minutes open the cover, fluff up the rice with fork and serve.
