Moong Dal Fry







Ingredients:

coriander powder

cumin seeds

curry leaves

dal

ginger paste

green chilies

mustard seeds

oil

onion

red chili powder

salt

turmeric powder

water
Instructions:
Wash moong dal under running cold water till water runs clear.Take moong dal with 1 cup of water in pressure cooker. Close the lid, put the weight on and cook it for 2 whistles on medium heat.
Let the pressure go down by itself, open the cover and it will look like this.
Heat the oil in pan on medium heat. Once hot add mustard seeds, let them pop. Then add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
Add ginger paste and green chilies. Cook for 30 seconds.
Add curry leaves and sauté for 30 seconds again.
Add chopped onion and mix.
Add salt to make the cooking process faster.
Let them cook till light brown.
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder and coriander powder.
Mix well. And cook for a minutes.
Add cooked dal and another 1 ½ cups of water. Adjust the water quantity as per your liking.
Mix well.
Let it come to a boil and let it simmer for 5 minutes.Moong dal fry is ready to serve.
